I'm hoping that the EXIF data is following my photo posts. I'm exporting them my computer as jpg from the original RAW files via LR5...Thanks!

What am I doing wrong? How do I get the data to follow? I have all my originals simply in a file on my computer as RAW. And then I just import them to Lightroom. As I said, I then export them to another folder on my computer a jpg and then it still shows the data there. Then I simply download them in my posts..Here's another try...Thanks!

I don't think its the file size that is stripping the Exif I regularly upload 2000px wide jpgs from LR and it works fine.

In LR select the File / Export and look in the pop up window.

If you scroll down you will see a section titled Metadata

In there make sure you have include ALL metadata selected.

The pic has to be embedded for the EXIF data to display. These pics are attachments.

The site's photo uploader has been a little wonky lately, at least on my end. Might be something @jdeg needs to look into.

Well the change in size seems to have done it. I did have the metadata checked the whole time...but I had it at 2400px...I'm going to try now at 2000px and see if it works now...but looking at the size of the file, I doubt it as it looks like it has been reduced exactly like Jake said.

I think it has to do with how you are attaching your photo. It is showing up as an attachment rather than showing up directly in your post.

Start off by positioning your cursor within your text where you want your photo to show up.

1. Click on the 'Insert Image' icon from the icons shown above the box where you are typing your message. Make sure it says 'From Computer.'

Upload photo.jpg

2. Select your file(s) and upload.

3. Once the image appears in the box where you are typing your text, do a double click on it. That will open up an additional box. Select the size--generally I choose 'Large' or 'Full Size.' Then click OK.

Be sure to preview your post then submit when you are finished.

Here are 2 more at the 1000 limit like Jake said and that seems to take the EXIF with it. I'm not sure what you mean Browncoat...Why would the embedded ones show any different, and how do you go about embedding? Thanks all!

Zutty, since you just posted, please be sure not to miss the post I wrote earlier. I think it has to do with how you are attaching your files.

You can post larger photos if and only if they are uploaded elsewhere and linked to the post. If you upload them as attachments to the thread then they must be 1000px or smaller.

YES!!! Now you've got it! ;) I forgot to mention to position your cursor within the text where you want the photo to show up. I will go in and edit my original post and add that info.

Jake, the Chapel photo I attached here is 1046 x 1600 pixels. I think the forum will resize, but the EXIF still shows up.
