Inconsistent EXIF data from Flickr

Hello.
When I share photos on this page that are hosted from Flickr, it appears that the recognition of EXIF data is very inconsistent. I can't tell if the problem arises from this site, from Flickr or from my own hand before uploading. My routine is shoot with d3100 -> Aftershot pro RAW conversion and adjustments -> Upload to Flickr -> share to nikonites. Usually EXIF does not appear (am I right in thinking that it is supposed to be imported with the photo?), but once in a while I have noticed that it actually does show in the forum. I can't figure out any consistency in when it shows and when it doesn't, so I'm wondering if anyone is experiencing the same? :)

I cannot speak for Flickr, but possibly first, you should verify the Exif data is actually present in the image that you uploaded.

If you save it with Adobe "Save for Web" menu, there will be no Exif - Save for Web removes it. That is what Save For Web is.

If you saved it with Adobe "Save As - JPG", it should have Exif in it.

Then some forums do strip it out anyway, if actually uploaded to the forum. If just linked from some other site, the forum won't strip it.

The photos I upload to Flickr then link here never show the EXIF data. Only the ones I attach directly to this forum show it.

This is a tricky thing to explain, but here goes.

Flickr does maintain the EXIF data but... When your post a shot here, in the forum, you're posting a link to your shot on your Flickr which then shows up here as your photo. I hope it makes sense that that's a different thing than uploading the picture from your PC which contains the EXIF data. If we were to go to Flickr to view your shot, we'd see your EXIF but you're linking your shot from Flickr to Nikonites and that means the EXIF does not show up when we hover our mouse on it; we're looking at "phantom" of your shot.

Yes, that is how I have understood it. I was under the impression that you had found d a way to display exif when hovering the mouse, but maybe that's not, officially, the case.
The thing is, that whether it's supposed to work or not, from time to time I do get the hover exif data from photos I have linked to from flickr. The shutter time is always displayed in theformat "10/x" (ie. 10/2500 instead of 1/250), and as mentioned I cannot find consistency in when it will show and when it will not. I'll try to go through my 365 and check again if I can spot a pattern :)

Might have to do with the image size and Flickr or Nikonites auto-resizing stuff. The one with exif comes up at a standard 1200x800 or similar while the other two are different...

When you upload to Flickr, you have to make sure you share the "original" upload. Anything resized will have the EXIF stripped. The new format has made doing that very difficult. You have to go to the Download All Sizes window (found in the '...' menu) and choose View All Sizes...

Click on that and it brings you to the old view.

Click on Original at the top, then copy the image location by right-clicking on the photo and then plug that into the From URL section of the Insert Image window here.

PITA.

Thanks Jake :)
I did have a feeling that might be a cause as I usually scale my images down through flickr. I'll just stop doing that then :)
Just a quick test

And by the way @BackdoorHippie, I had that same issue for a short while. But then it seemed like they made another update to the site, and now I can just click the 'Share Photo' option
1.jpg
Then choose bb-code, select a size and C/P to the forum
2.jpg
Easy enough after all :)
