Hello everyone,Thank you for coming to read this.
For while now I have been thinking of taking up photography. I feel that I have a keen eye for landscape photos and have a very big appreciation for photography.
I have a tiny bit of money to get my self started (£250 right now), I know it is not a lot but I wanted to see what I could and should get to start out with. I was looking at the D90 body witch I could pick up for £225 right now.
I am very new to all this and I have been doing some reading and watching youtube videos for beginners. Once I buy a camera I will do some courses in my local area to help me get started.
As I said I know I don't have too much to spend right now, but wanted to get a camera body that will last me for a fair bit.
Could anyone out there lend this newbie a hand and help make his first of many Nikon purchases.

Firstly, welcome to the forum!
The D90 is a good camera, but it is quite an old model. The main advantage to you of the 90 would be the inbuilt focus motor, which will let you use older lenses.

I would also suggest looking at the D3xxx series, and if possible in your budget, the D5xxx series - They are newer and may well serve you better than a used D90.

Basically, the newest you can afford, but bear in mind that you can do well by leaving a bit of budget, and getting a good sharp prime lens (Prime lenses are fixed length, not zoom) like the 50 or 35mm AFS... These come in at £150-ish new and are VERY good.

The D3100 upwards are excellent for their second hand price. I recently sold a D3100 (Body only, no lens) for £160, so they are out there to be had.

You will get lots of ideas on this forum, so you are in the right place!

Thank you Steve! I will take a look at them now :) Any models I should look at in the D3XXX series?
I would suggest the D3300, personally, if you can swing it. It would serve you well for a long time and is a big improvement over the D3200 without a big increase in price.

Have look on eBay but only buy from people who have high positive feedback ratings.
If you can find someone selling near where you live then I would go there and check it out personally.

It's up to you of course but I'm going to point out the difference in price between the D3100 shown above and a D3300 on Amazon (dot) co.uk is only about £120.

For that price increase you're getting a camera body without an OLPF, which will give you significantly better image quality. The '3300 is has much better resolution, better color depth, more dynamic range, better battery life, a much higher resolution rear LCD, higher maximum ISO, shoots faster and it's lighter. And that's just off the top of my head... I say all this without taking anything away from the D3100; it's just that the D3300 offers you a hell of a lot more for that paltry £120 or so.
