I'm sure I've seen at least another thread or two on this matter, in which it turned out that a recent update to Internet Explorer was the source of the problem; and that the solution is to switch to a non-crappy browser.
You shouldn't be using Internet Explorer anyway, except in a few very narrow applications where you have no other choice. To use Internet Explorer as a general purpose web browser is just asking to get your machine taken over by all manner of destructive malware. Don't do it. Use
FireFox or
Chrome or anything but Internet Explorer.
Well, OK, yes, you may use Internet Explorer to find and download a copy of a good browser. Until you do that, with Internet Explorer being the only browser you actually have, that falls under the “you have no other choice” situation.
Perhaps the moderators should put up a sticky, or some other prominent notice where it is likely to be seen by all users, advising everyone to avoid using Internet Explorer on this forum.
