What Lens is on Your D800 Right Now?

80-400VR on mine because I was out shooting this morning.

Sigma 50 - 500mm OS HSM etc, great lens for the D800

Nikon 24-70mm 2.8

Ahhh! A body cap! But the 85 1.4G is sitting right next to it waiting for the next assignment, LOL.

300mm f/2.8G VRII on my "E" and 24-70mm f/2.8G on my "non-E".

If only the 24-70 /2.8 had VR, it would be on my D800 most of the time. Don't understand why Nikon doesn't introduce an "improved" version with it.
Since it doesn't, the 24-120 /4 is.
I wish the 24-70 had a lot less distortion, but I can correct that in post, and both are capable of essentially the same IQ, as best as I can discern. The fact the 24-120 is shorter and lighter doesn't hurt the equation either. The 24-70 produces better bokeh, but with the D800's high image quality at relatively high ISO's, I can compensate for the stop of light loss and speed with VR and a higher ISO for the few situations I could use f/2.8.

Right now its the 50mm f/1.8 G
5 minutes ago it was the 80-400mm 4.5 - 5.6G.

Nikon 105mm 2.8 VR. Shooting nothing but hoars. Still in the throws of winter here in Canada.

14-24 2.8

Nowadays, nothing. I have a Lowepro Roller 300 and both bodies go in there after a shoot with no lenses attached.
