When shooting in M mode on D750 I sometimes want to chande the apereture or shutter speed and snap a new photo with new settings. When I try to change settings I will have to wait a few seconds (95mbs sd) and the camere will sometimes go to playbackmode, and I am missing shots. Can anyone offer advice on how to remedy this? Many thank!

I must not be understanding something because when you're shooting in full Manual the front and rear command-wheels adjust aperture and shutter speed, instantly and on the fly. There should be no delay when changing either setting, they have nothing to do with your SD card or going into "playback" mode, by which I'm thinking your mean review mode on the rear LCD.

Also confused. I've got a couple questions:
1. Are you using Live View or thru the viewfinder?
2. Are you using 3rd Party (Sigma, Tamron, etc.) glass?

That said, I suspect you have the camera set to review the image automatically, in which case you will need to either slightly depress the shutter to cancel the image review before changing any settings because the same wheels used to change the shutter speed and aperture are also used in image review. Best bet is to turn off automatic image review and hit the Play button whenever you want to review the image. I find at times that even when I manually review the image I'll try and change the settings before the image disappears and I'll miss stuff. Frustrating.

I dont have the d750, but this sounds like a combination of image review turned on and command wheel customized to scroll images. Check your menu f5 settings for command wheel menu and playback options. Set it off or set it for [whatever] + 'excluding image playback'. I forget the exact wording, but thats whats happening. Image review comes on and the wheel is customized to scroll, so you lose your shutter adjustment temporarily. If you want to keep image review on, check that f5 menu setting.
