Shutter release recallissue

I have a D750, it has the shutter issue (sometimes it will lock up when taking the first picture of the day) and display an “err” message. I checked online, Nikonusa.com, D750 Service Advisory and my serial number is part of the recall. So I printed the shipping forms. My questions, is it insured? How will I know if it made it to them and when I'll get it returned? I guess I'm a little worried as I'm not sure if something happens I'm covered.

Thanks

I sent mine in a long time ago and it all came back just fine. There are some notifications but mine was back before they gave me notice that it had been shipped.

The err was not part of the recall so if I were you I would make note of the additional problem. How long have you had the camera?

Thanks for your response! I'm just worried if it is insured in case something happens during the shipping, the website didn't say, or do I pay for insurance? I have had it about 8 months.

If they authorize the return they send you a prepaid shipping invoice, making them effectively the shipper in both directions. Pack well, and I always take some photos of the contents and packing in case UPS disputes any claim (they always will), but if the package is lost or damaged then Nikon is the responsible party and your argument will be with them if the say otherwise.

It's cheaper for Nikon to simply replace your camera from inventory IF something happens, than to pay for insurance on every camera Nikon is responsible for.
