I was turned on to this ISO setup by a friend in May. I guess I could have read the manual, but.....
You can set the function of the red movie button on the top of the body to ISO. To adjust ISO, depress the movie button and scroll the main dial.
When you do that, you have control of the exposure triangle in your right hand, if you shoot manual (as I do). To me, it's better than the D700/800 layout with ISO on the top left knob.
