Thanks, Jim. That's one of the several bodies listed by NikonUSA as being on sale. I'm sure glad that I didn't buy one last month!!

Even the D810 price is reduced.

Now there are two reasons for waiting before buying
1. Wait for all the design/manufacturing errors/glitches to be solved
2. Wait for the price to reduce, by at least 20%

In my case the camera purchases are medium term investment and I have no need for the latest. So waiting for the price to come down within a year makes sense. That all the faults and glitches will be ironed out in mean time is the icing.

By the way D610 is going for around USD 1300 vs USD 1750 official price in India

Gosh darn it! If I would have just waited a few more months ,I could have had it for a 100 dollars less.:loyal:
I payed $2300 for my D750..Then soon after went to $2000..Now this. SMH
Good news is I saved a $1000 on buying my D810(pre-owned) for $2300 versus $3300...So I guess I will live:)

I'm happy for a different reason: Even at today's sale price, it's still more expensive than what I paid for my D750 last year.

That was exactly my line of thinking. I saw the D750 at the PhotoPlus Expo last year, but Nikon's history of poor quality control scared me off. It looked like I made the right decision!

I just just bought the D750. Very happy with it!

Re: D750 now $1,395???

In short, yes. It's grey market... Not that there's anything wrong with that; I buy grey market kit pretty frequently.
...

Thank you, they also have the D810 for $2,195 free shipping, which is $600 cheaper than others, and only $200 more than a used D810 (40k actuations) at a local shop I like.

The catch is Nikon won't do any warranty work on it, or even fee-based repairs.
Yup. That's why, in the past, I've bought a third-party warranty that's actually worth having. One that covers things like "impact damage" (Nikon's Get Out of Jail Free card that amounts to sticking you with the bill for your "still under warranty" gear), spills and just about everything else you can think of. They have a five-day turn-around and they pay the shipping, both ways. Nikon's "warranty" is a joke in my experience and I probably have more experience in that arena than most.

My local shop assures me if anything goes wrong with my D750, they've got me covered.

I was looking on their site and could not find what the base warranty was (42th Street Photo) but their Extended warranties run from $470 for the 3 year extended with water damage and dropping to $280 for the standard warranty. Both are upgraded to 5 year right now for some sort of special. That would bring the total up to 1700 +-

Re: D750 now $1,395???

42nd Street Photo now advertising BRAND NEW D750 for $1,395 with free shipping? What's the catch? Is this sourced from outside the USA?

https://www.42ndphoto.com/Product/nikon-d750-24-3-megapixel-digital-camera---body/110289

I contacted them at once to find out whether or not a sale was for a US model... Their response was that they would send out whatever they have in stock and that it was a toss up as to what they sent out. They made it sound as if there was a 50-50 chance of receiving a gray-market or a US model.

I ended up buying through Amazon after reading the reviews from 42nd Street Photo and the countless victims of poor customer service. Be aware of similar stores that prey on their customers.
