There is absolutely no refurbs to be had anywhere.
getitdigital has them new for $1,499 but the gray stuff makes me very nervous, even though [MENTION=13090]Horoscope Fish[/MENTION] has dealt with them before. Right now they are 1,999 at Adorama and such places. That is a huge difference. Almost enough to buy a Tokina 16-28 f2.8.

One more week then I'm pulling the trigger either way.

I think if the gray market unsettles you then your right to ignore it,i know i feel nearly the same,i will continue to bring it to peoples attention though as i do see it as a valid alternative.

I make the same mistake all the time. Someone asks a question about a camera or lens and doesn't inform of the make or model. Then I go,"Hey! Whatsamatter with this guy?"..Then I realize, I'm in a camera/lens specific forum.

Patience is the key to virtue ,or is it curiosity? No, that one killed the cat. Probably going to order it Thursday so it will be here to use it over the weekend. Monday I may read the manual.

After all this, I'll have to start saving for a 16-28mm f/2.8 Tokina.

That's been out of stock for a while. I don't know why Nikon keeps listing it.

I'm close to the same point. The only snafu I see with the gray market is resale. Are they easy enough to sell when it comes time? I see lots of listings for new gray market, but I never seem to run across any used listings.

Most owners will not state if its gray,its just s secondhand camera.
