New lens

Ordering a new lens today. After much review reading and deliberation, I'm going for the Tamron 24-70mm f2.8 di vc usd.
Can't wait to try it out. I have the Sigma 24-70mm F2.8 for my D7000 and it's a great lens but all the reviews say the Tamron is the best if the current crop of lenses(even beats the Nikon in a fee areas)

Do you mean you have the Sigma 17-50mm f/2.8 as your signature suggests? I wouldn't understand the appeal of getting two lens of exactly the same focal length if I already thought the one I had was a great lens.

Well spotted. Yes it is the 17_50mm but it's the DC lens which is crop sensor lens. The Tamron is for full frame. I shouldn't post before my brain wakes up ;-)

I thought so and that makes a lot more sense. How do you find the Nikon 24-85mm f/2.8-4? I assume this doesn't fulfil what you want in terms of IQ or is it the f/4 at 85mm end that's an issue?

Unfortunately the nikon is faulty and I'm getting a full refund so it's helping fund the Tamron. I did use it at the longer end for some portraits and they came out really nice.
