I have and use the Nikon 10-24mm and I love it. It is sharp, relatively fast, and super versatile. It does a fantastic job of color rendering too. It is not cheap, but good lenses never are. I picked mine up on B&H as an open box model for a few hundred cheaper than list.

Just checked Amazon and they are about $900...not sure where else to check. Any others out there? thanks. I will have to commit to this if its what I really have to have

Welcome to the forum. I use the Tokina 11-16 with my D7100 and I love it. Now with any wide angle especially in real estate photography you really have to learn how to shoot with it. Level and square will help with the distortion some but post processing it the key with it. There is a plugin for photoshop/Lightroom that really simplifies the process though. DxO Viewpoint will make it look perfect with very little effort.

I would second Danno's advice. The Sigma 10-20 f/3.5 is a top performer, producing quality photos time and again. My question would be whether you really need a 10mm or 12mm lens for your photo needs. Would the stick 18-55mm Nikon lens cover it for you? If so, you can get refurbished models for around $100.

Welcome to the forum, by the way.

I've always been leery of second party lens so I went with the Nikon 10-24mm and been pleased with it's performance.

And yes, 10mm is necessary, at times :)

An ultra wide for my D7100 is the next lens I need to get. I've always assumed I'd get the tokina 11-16mm having heard so many positive things but it seems that the Sigma 10-20mm is a similar price. That extra 1mm and 4mm respectively could be over more benefit than the wider aperture of the tokina, considering most shots would be stopped down.
Interested to hear more thoughts on these and other UW options.

I was in the same spot Elliot. Read some reviews and borrowed a 10mm prime and realized I wanted that extra mm. Also liked a lot of Michael Jaeger' landscapes. That hooked me.
