Hi guys
ok I'm going to a nephews wedding on Monday
I'm not expected to deliver any photos this is just for me
i have the 7100 , 18-55 kit lens 18-105 kit lens a sigma 70-300
yongunu flash
Any advice on the lens option I don't really want to take all three
Also should I use flash on hotshot something I've never done or rely on ttl pop up flash
Most shots will be random not at all posed or any kind of formal shot
i repeat these are just for me to see what I can produce , I'm much happier with trees and fields
thanx guys

I have shot parties, and sometimes you need wider than 50mm for a group shot when you can't back up too far (because of people), but having some zoom is also nice to get candids. If only one lens, then the 18-105. If your Sigma 70-300 is the same as mine, it has no vibration reduction, but the Nikon 18-105mm 3.5-5.6 does.

If part of the wedding is outdoors, however, the 300 on a DX body will help you reach out and get great candid shots of people who don't even know they are having their photo taken.

Nikon 18-105mm is by far you best choice. After I got this lens for my D7000 the 18-55 was never used again. I ended up selling it with my D5100. I have the 18-140 for my D7100 and it is my main go to lens now for walk-a-bout.

Great for those indoor shots ... Be careful to get the flash set correctly as you don't want to blind the guests but want to light the room

they always expect pictures.

im not going to comment on the lenses. but the 70-300. dont pass 100mm. the quality leaves a lot to be desired and as well im not sure how much lighting youll have and how stable are you in taking shots in the dark with a tele. and not sure the flash will be strong enough to light the people youll shoot with them from far away. so dont pass 100mm.

my worry is about the lighting. what flash model is the flash? if youll need an on camera flash or not depends how dark the place is and how high is the ceiling, or if its outdoors in the evening.

Unless you want long shots, the 18-55 is good enough for most shots. The 70-300 is pretty bad, so avoid it. You can carry the 18-105 for long shots, but I would stick to the 18-55 most time. With this lense the on-board flash is quite sufficient. A more powerful flash will blind people is not bounced off the ceiling or used with a diffuser.

Thanks for the tips guys
I think I stick with 18-105
Try the pop up for fill in outside
And the on camera yongnuo flash bounced off ceiling if pos with the white catchlight card
If all ok I will post some fantastic wedding shots next week
Cheers all
