I have to ask :) I always heard that water drains backwards down under --- how does that affect your photography shooting upside down? How do you keep the blood from rushing to your head??

Just having fun :)

Don't laugh, apparently the water rotates the opposite way when the dunnys (= toilet, crapper, John) is flushed. Something to do with the magnetic poles. Why do you think we all live down here, the head rush is just like being drunk all the time :)

Eglobal is a great HK=Hong Kong based, AU site. I have bought many items off them. All products are grey imports without specific Nikon warranty, but the company itself offers the warranty. Another one I use frequently with the same business model is DWI. digital cameras, digital slr cameras, video cameras - DWI australia online store. Digital World International

I have bought before from DWI without any problems. I also got my Nikon 70-300VR from http://www.kogan.com/au/shop/cameras/ , delivered to my door in less than a week for not much more money than 2nd hand on ebay.
I think Kogan will ship worldwide, but it would be better to check first.

I think a lot of people in Australia buy from this type of business because of the savings. Authorised Nikon dealers in Australia are very expensive. Almost $2500 for a "body only" D600, when a grey market model can be had for about $800 less, thats a lot of money to pay for your peace of mind Nikon Warranty.

Yes, we get the right royal shaft here in OZ. The worst bloodsuckers are software companies. Adobe, $1100 for PS. Apple $2.19 for songs that are .99c in US. These are downloadable files. Why do we pay so much more? Maybe it's harder to send files upside down :loyal:

Yes, I've bought from Kogan as well. Picked up a GoPro ripoff AEE Magicam SD 21 video camera from them a few weeks ago for $149!! DWI are excellent. They handle all warranty stuff here is OZ. I just ordered a 35/2 lens off them. Hoping it will arrive tomorrow :)

What some of you forget is that there is no import duty into australia up to $1000 but US and UK is different ..In uK over $20 duty + VAT if you are unlucky to get the parcel stopped and the carriers act as agent for the Customs adding a service charge ..bastards

Have you ever had to use their warranty ? Just wondering what they are like.

We get the rough end of the pineapple alright.
Woodworking is another of my hobbies, we have to pay a very large premium for tools and machinery compared to woodworkers in the USA.

Nah mate, haven't yet. But have heard good things on another Aussie forum I frequent. Saying that, I've decided if the 35/2 lens I just bought isn't sharp enough for me, I've got 7 days to return it for a full refund. So depending on what happens, I might be able to report on them soon.
