My Nikon D7000 just crapped out on me... what to do?

I'm a part time photojournalist and and a bartender at a live music venue in Columbia, SC. My Nikon D7000 crapped out on me and I felt troubled. In order to deal with the emotions I wrote a blog post about handling the loss.

Click. Click. Clunk. It's Dead... 10 Ways to Cope With the Death of Your Camera

I'd like to say taking this approach has been a very rewarding experience. Thanks! Feedback encouraged.

Why not just get it fixed?

I think I'll pass on the breaking experience dispite how rewarding you found it

I don't want to sound rude, but how is feedback encouraged for a broken camera? You either send it in to get fixed or buy another one. Kind of a weird posting without introducing yourself. Just my 2 pennies.

Welcome to Nikonites Sean. I found your post written well, but a bit dramatic. I don't think you need to break your camera to be a good photographer, but I guess that depends on what you're taking pictures of too

Like others have said, why not just get it fixed? I'm sure it's not completely FUBAR.

You have some very good shots posted on your site - you should share them here too.
