Hey fellas,

Just wondering if anyone else has one of these cards in their D7000?

I have a 16gb one in mine and while the performance is absolutely brilliant I occasionally have problems with it.
Every now and then the camera either switches to the 2nd card or comes up saying it has an error or something along those lines.

Just today I was out with it taking some pics of RC Racing and it errored about 6 times.

There is nothing wrong with the card as it works in my fathers D3100 perfectly fine and works in my computer perfectly fine also.

So has anyone else had any problems with them?

Hey there.

I've been using the 8GB version of this card in my D7000 for just over a year now. I agree - a blazing fast card! However while I've had no issues with my 8GB card, I have read many issue regarding the 16GB variety over the course of the past year as well. The good news is that I believe that issue was addressed in the latest firmware update for the D7000 from Nikon

Now I'm not sure if you've updated to the latest firmware for the D7000 -A: 1.0.2 / B:1.03, updated last October -which amongst many other things, addressed some memory card issues.

Here is a link to the upgrade: D7000 firmware: A: 1.0.2 / B:1.03 upgrade (please follow the update instructions very carefully - as the old saying goes: measure twice and cut once! :))

Post back and let us know if this update addressed your problem.

Ta mate, thats great, will have to do it when I get home tonight.

I had to update it to 1.02 a while back, had a problem with low light long exposures and hot pixels (and the same through live view).
It made it a bit better but didnt really fix it.

I'm assuming you updated the "A" portion to 1.02 Did you update the "B" portion to 1.03? That may just fix your problem. :) Both portions must be done in order for the updates to fully function.

I have two 16 gigs and this happened as well. The update really did fix it! I haven't had the problem once since I updated it. Good luck.

I'm using one and while I expected it to solve the issue of only 8-10 shots in high speed before gagging on the buffer (which it didn't) it does clear much faster than my previous card and I can still get 1-2 shots per second once it's full. I haven't done a firmware upgrade, so I suppose I might try this to see if it makes a difference.

And speaking of firmware upgrades, I am apparently woefully behind. If I am on 1.01 do I need to step up one upgrade at a time or can I go directly to 1.03?
