Take your memory card out of the camera..........press the buttons next to the green dots at the same time...........that will reset your camera. It should clear it up. If not, clean the contacts on your lens with rubbing alcohol.

Next...try another lens....see if it does the same thing. If not, it's a problem with the other lens.

That triangle is the non-cpu lens symbol. There is some info on page 70 and 270 of the download pdf English manual. So, yes, everything Jack said. Or maybe your lens is just not clicked down tight.

By the way, welcome and thanks for including the picture of the top lcd, we get a lot of first-time vague questions that go on for days with Q&A trying to understand the problem.

Hello and Thanks.
i did try out the green buttons, but didnt go away. I will clean the contacts and see if it helps. What worry me is that the lense worked fine for 2days.

Thanks nick. I really dont know much about non cpu and all it implicates, but why did auto focus before? And i Was using it normally, changing f stops with the dial, auto focussing etc. I already entre the info of the lense in the camera and worked ok in manual mode. But no AF. I triple check the "click" sound when installing the lense. Will check the manual on the Pages you mention. Thanks.

I'm think lens is bad or bad connection. Is the aperture ring solidly at f22? Were you changing aperture with the ring? I think there is a setting to enable that but normally we leave the lens ring at smallest aperture and control it from the camera instead. Taking my old 50mm off of f22 gives me an error rather than the triangle, but check your ring anyway. Just a guess.

Could it be that you accidentally changed the focus mode switch in front of the camera... It has happened to me at one point.

Where did you enter the lens info? In the non-cpu lens menu? I am not familiar with that lens, but as an AF lens, it should just work. Menu f6 - aperture ring=on, lens ring set on f22, non-cpu lens data cleared out, camera lever set to AF. Check the lens also for an af/m switch and set to auto if it has one. Other than that, you might need to find another lens to test. That triangle needs to go away.

Thanks to you all ! I read the manual, and learn that the triangle and 0-5 fstops shown on the display are because when you dont enter the máximum fstop manually when using a non cpu lense, the camera displays fstops as 1,2,3,4,5 an so. So i did enter the info manually and now it shows correctly the fstops, but wont auto focus as it did before. So i guess there is something wrong with the lense cpu. I Was on a trip in Miami everglades and has a really really bad time manual focusing. But already order a newer dx lense.

From your writing, I suspect that is this lens has no CPU, it might be a manual focus lens... Could you post a picture of the lens in question?

Check the contacts of the lens and the camera. First, borrow a lens from someone to make certain the problem is not in the camera.

The contacts are little ball-bearings sticking out of the lens mount and sometimes, one of the spring could fail. Try depressing each and all of these little balls just to make sure that they come back up after you release them. If that doesn't help you, then maybe you have to send your camera to a repair shop.
