[h=2]Modifications enabled in version A1.04, B 1.05[/h]
  • Support for distortion control data Ver. L: 2.000 and later has been added.
Camera firmware must be updated before distortion control data can be updated to Ver. L: 2.000 or later.
----------------------------------------------

I was able to install the firmware update, but the message above confused me.

My conclusion is that distortion control data Ver. L[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]: 2.000 is enabled, but since it is not available, you can not install it at the moment.
Does someone have an other experience?

The same update came to D7100 yesterday. My guess is that Nikon are preparing a release of lens correction data in new format (hence ver 2.000). They need to update all camera models first, to make them compatible with the new lens data, which will be released later.

I searched for distortion control version 2 and couldn't find it, so I assumed that it was not yet released. Thanks for this link!

I've read over at Nikon Rumors that this increases autofocus speed with the D7100.

I wonder if the same applies for the D7000! I would be thrilled if they fixed he D7K autofocus. It hunts like crazy in low light.

It is only applicable to certain camera models that Nikon listed.

Nikon Imaging | Global Site | Distortion Control Data version 2

I have trouble with this one (seems to me Nikon added that link on their A1,04, B1,05 site as well).
I download the exe on my Windows 7, it creates the Nikon directory, with subdirectory and rtf file, but the library file I can not find.
Also ran it as super administrator (I do never use this so not 100% certain how it is configured).

Let's say the exe file is saved on your desktop, it will create a Nikon folder. That Nikon folder will have the .bin which you need to transfer to your memory card then to your camera.

Eh, not really. Nikon should really do something about their video department. They are way behind Canon and miles away from Panasonic, although I find Nikon much better for photography.

I know that is what should happen, it is just not what is happening. I find the Nikon folder, it has a subfolder legal with in there License.rtf.
There is no .bin anywhere in this Nikon folder.

I deleted the whole thing and tried to start from the .exe on the desktop, thanks that worked.
