Is a d7000 a good upgrade for me

Hello I'm a 14 year old kid who loves photography and videography.

I'm a technology Youtuber who focuses on pc gaming hardware and general technology.

Right now I'm using a d3100 with 3 lenses

55-200 non vr

35mm 1.8

18-55mm kit

So for my birthday I've decided my best bet is upgrading my body.

My budget is around 500 dollars for a used camera body only

I'm going to be using it for my youtube work which includes broll shots still video and something that works well in medium light (I have 1 overhead and 2 front facing umbrellas.

I'll also be using it for gymnastics photography.

And of course I want something good for general photography.

Thank you!

I would say definitely yes. I have one and the images are very good, the HD video is very good, the AF is reasonably quick, and knowing it can use FX lenses as well, that it has partial magnesium body instead of plastic, that it is weather-sealed, that you can run it with two cards (for example, one for video, one for stills). all amounts to a very economical upgrade. I know of pro wedding photographers that have used that camera.

A good upgrade for You. I love my D7000. Then you can start upgrading from your kit lenses to a 16-85 or an 18-200, depending on how much focal length you need, but keep the 35mm.
