Just thought I would though this question out there? Everyone that has a d7000 how do you like it? I am going to get one this year. I was looking at the d300s but have been turned around by others, saying the d7000 is a much better camera for the money, any thoughts on this d7000 owners? Love to get everyones feedback on this. I am very excited about picking up a d7000 in the near future. Please give me your take on your d7000s .

Yes, I was down at the photo shop and had a d7000 in my hands. Everyone there was raving about it's performance. So now I am pretty excited about getting one, hopefully this year...lol.

I'm coming from a D40x, so the jump for me was absolutely colossal. I love my D7000 to death and it seems, coupled with a nice lens, it'll handle everything I'll throw at it. Only an FX camera will get me to even consider leaving my D7000.

Thanks so much everyone for your comments about the D7000, it really helps. I am about one inch from buying one...lol.
For a bit I was hearing bad things about the D7000 (after it first came out) and thought of going to the D300s. But I have been hearing great things about the D7000 from some people that have had it for a while now. I think the people that were not happy with it at first just were not use to handling it? Anyway it seems like the D7000 is the way to go for me (sticking with the DX formant). Any added comments on how you like your D7000 would really help, thanks :).

I love mine.
I'm only a casual shooter (family, vacations, etc.) but it's exactly want I wanted.
Quick, light and flexible enough to handle all my photo needs.
Also, enough features to keep me busy learning for a while.

Well I just placed my order today for my new Nikon D7000. I got it from a great company in Calgary, got a $50.00 rebate, free shipping no PST tax, total $1206.06 great price.
The Camera Store | Get the Picture! A sales man called Chris Niccolls helped me out and was very helpful.
Looking forward to the D7000 :).

Very cool, Curt. I know Chris Niccolls at The Camera Store. He just happens to be my go to guy there if I need any help with anything. You got a good deal. :) Congrats.

The body is $1200 USD here in Indiana. Bought one with a 14-24 2.8 zoom a few weeks back and Nikon had a $400 instant rebate. Worked nicely, as my Dad wanted the D7000 and I wanted the 14-24... $200 off each :)

I paid $1200 total, tax in, shipping, etc. So I was really happy, as Best Buy, London drugs, as well as other camera shops in my area were sell the body for close to $1300 before tax. So I felt I got a fantastic deal, and great service.
