About 3 months ago I looked at my D600 and noticed that the rubber eye piece was missing. The camera spends a lot of time on a strap over my shoulder while walking around, and I figure that at some point it rubbed against my clothes and popped off. A little upset I decided that rather than spring $5 for a new one I'd just pull it off the D90 I have sitting on the shelf. Last night I'm sitting on the deck and I look down at it and notice that, once again, the darn thing is missing!! I have to say that now I'm more than a little miffed. This is the DK-21 part that comes standard on all of them, and I've never taken it off on my own to use the ridiculous little cover they give you (I usually cover it with my hands).
Obviously it's not something critical since I don't seem to notice it right away, but I'd still like to have something on there. Anyone else have anything like this happen? The only recent thing I can think of is that while shooting on Sunday with glasses on I seemed to be having some trouble seeing through the eyepiece, which often happens and as always I wound up taking my glasses off. Perhaps it's sticking somewhat to the glasses and pulling up? I don't know, but before I buy something else I have to figure out what the heck is going on.
