D5500 Autofocus Lock Beep

Hello everybody!

I'm a proud owner of the new D5500 and I'm loving it. I've been through the manual a couple of times but would like some help with the Beep function. I like using it some times but have noticed although being in the on setting, it seems to only beep while in Auto, No flash, or Live View mode. It doesn't seem to beep when in A,S or M mode when using the viewfinder. Is there a way to turn this on or is it not available? Slightly perplexed!

Thanks in advance.

I don't have a d5500 to play with, but one thing to look out for is af-c focus mode, it won't beep in af-c (continuous focus). Focus mode can be set separately for auto, A-S-M, and live view. So your focus mode might be inadvertantly changing to af-c as you jump between shooting modes causing the beep to come and go. Also if af-a mode detects a need for af-c, you lose the beep as well.

You're absolutely correct. This used to drive me nuts, until I got it figured out.
