Do you have a Lowepro backpack?

If you have a Lowepro style backpack for your camera equipment, what do you think about it? I need to increase my carrying capacity now with a new lens. This particular one looks like it may be a little more than I need right right now.

Uh...trust me...you'll be glad you bought this. You can never have enough carrying space for your gear! You'll acquire other lenses as you go along, and you'll be glad you have this! I use a back pack also, and I STILL have 2 other bags that I use on a daily basis.

I have a CompuTrekker, a Nova 4, and a Sideline Shooter.....all Lowepros. :)

Silver,
I have that exact same bag and for carrying capacity it is great. Has place to carry tri-pod, rain cover, plenty of pockets and zipped pouches.

That was the pros.

The cons.
It doesn't fit my back very well as a back pack. Rides like a lump on my back and seems to be made to fit a smaller adult / kid. Too many extra straps to wrap around chest. I cut the ones on the main straps off. The little pockets for extra batteries are too small for my D5100 batteries and the top flap will not velcro closed so the batteries keep slipping out of the pockets. The removable dividers work great for making custom sized cubby holes for stuff -- but with no covers over the cubby holes stuff falls out if the bag is not laying flat when the main pouch is opened.

Like I said, carrying capacity is great. The price was reasonable and I am learning to like it -- but I wish that I looked at bigger bags a little closer.

True enough I have 9 bags and one back pack all Lowepro except for two Domke bags.

Check out Lowepro's other backpack styles, too. They have Fastpacks and Slingshots, which allow for quick access to your camera, while carrying the bags on your back. They also have some great shoulder bags. Lowepro just makes great bags.

Although I don't particularly care for backpacks, I'm leaning more toward the Lowepro Vertex 200 AW. I only wish it has removable backpack straps.

I just bought one of the Lowepro Vertex 200 AW bags.

Thanks for the input guys.

My first lowepro bag was pro runner 200 aw. Used it 3 years and still is in decent condition.

Recenty got 300 and 350 aw...both are just awesome..

Lowepro bags are highly recommended.

I just received my Lowepro Vertex 200 AW. This backpack camera bag is fantastic. More than enough storage for my current equipment and plenty of room to expand. Now I'll need to upgrade my aluminum Linden LG-3 tripod that weighs about 5 lbs. for a lighter weight tripod.

I have the 250 fastback. It's a great bag and I travel with it everywhere. BUT it's getting a bit full with two long lenses, two primes and a small flash.
It's so easy to get the camera out, and takes a laptop too, that it's still my favourite..,.and I've had at least 10 or more.....

I considered the 250 fastpack but I don't plan on using it as a backpack so I wouldn't benefit from the easy camera access.

I have a Flipside 300. I carry a Nikon D7100 with Sigma 10-20 attached, a Nikon 85mm, a Nikon 35mm, a Nikon 70-300, plus battery charger etc. All fits comfortably.

I have a slingshot 302 and it got plenty of room. The downside is that the more room, the more you tend to stuff in it.

You can go to their website and use the bagfinder option. It lets you specify what you want to fit inside and according that, it suggests which types fulfill your demands.

Thanks downunder, will the camera with the 70-300 lens fitted fit in the bag?

Yes it does. I tend to carry it with the Sigma attached and the 70-300 lens below it mainly because of ease of access carried that way and the fact that I like to shoot landscapes with the sigma. The one minus with the Flipside design is that it is difficult to reach items at the bottom of the bag because the bag cover does not open up fully. By placing the 70-300 lens in this bottom position it is easy to grab because of its length.

I received my Flipside 200 yesterday. I really like it! I only carry a D3100, 18-55 kit lens, and the zoom kit lens with hood. I also packed in the battery charger, an assortment of filters, and manuals. So far I have the perfect amount of room. I could store one more short lens. Still waiting for my tripod. Once I get that I will do a separate post with a review.

I also have the Flipside 200 and use it when I want to travel light. I tend to carry it with a Nikon 70-300 fitted to a D5100 and the 18-55 kit lens in a pocket, and like you, the battery charger etc.

I have the flipside 300.. and usually carry around my D300s, SB600, 50mm 1.8d, 35mm 1.8G, 70-210 F4 and 85mm 3.5G. Not to mention spare batteries, cleaning kit and diffusers. It holds a lot.
