What is flashing and non-flawing"ISO-A" mean?

ISO-A shows on my info screen, sometimes flashing and sometimes not. The flashing part I believe is telling me the subject is too dark. But what does the "A" part mean? Thanks for any help.

The "ISO-A" icon indicates the "Auto ISO" feature has been enabled.

A flashing Auto-ISO icon is a warning the camera is about to over-ride your chosen ISO setting.
