This is my second d5100. I am currently using azden sgm1x microphone. The microphone works great but when the sound is played on the computer I only hear it on one side. The same happened with my first d5100. Possible settings on the camera? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Have to ask the obvious question... Is this a stereo mic you're using?

Okay... Well... That pretty much answers that, then.
I looked up the specs myself and I didn't see any mention of it being stereo either.
....
Not sure how easy this is in the software your using, but in the audio software I use for mixing music there is normally a convert to stereo setting which simply copies the track to form a stereo sound (identical on left and right) Failing that, just do it manually, copy left to right. As I said though, that's in audio production software, not sure what your using or how easy it would be!
