Battery connection

My am having trouble when inserting my battery after charging it. It just doesn't want to connect although it looks and feels completely seated. I seem to have to very firmly push on the battery to have power to my camera. Once it does connect, I have no problems and the battery life is good. Any ideas?

The battery is the one that came with the camera.
If possible, I'd take the camera to a local brick and mortar store and ask if you could try a different battery in your camera just to see if it's your battery causing the problem. If a a different battery gives you the same problem, you can pretty safely assume there is a problem with the camera body that needs to be looked at. On the other hand, if the loaner-battery doesn't give you the same issue, then you know it's time to replace the battery.

If you can't get the camera to a local shop then I would suggest simply buying a new battery from somewhere with a good reputation and a legit return policy. If the new battery doesn't solves the problem, return it and have your camera looked at.

Seems to be a contact problem.
. Check the battery contacts. If they look clean and shiny that is fine. If the contacts are recessed as in the D3300, then check if any dust or foreign matter has got into the recess. Blow hard to get rid of any matter if it is there.
. Check the contacts in the camera. Shine a torch and check them. If they are shiny they are fine. If there is slight dust or they look dull, blow and if that does not solve the problem, try cleaning them with thin ear buds.
. As suggested try another battery. If problem disappears, it is the battery.

If every thing is fine and the problem persists, then the contacts in the camera are to blame. If in warranty get it checked and repaired.
