Hi,
Not sure if you can help, but my Nikon d5100 was left 'on' for about a week and now when I put a new battery in it and turn it on an egg timer comes on the screen and that is all that happens. :( Does anyone have any advice on what I could do to fix it?

Thanks in advance

Re: Please help!!

Try this. Remove the battery and reinsert it. Then, turn the camera button to the "On" position and roll it all the way over to the "Bulb" position and hold that there for about 15 seconds. Turn camera off and then back on again and see if it has cleared the fault.

Curious to know what that does, and why it worked?

Not sure exactly what it does but it fixes several of these problems. I learned about it searching for fixes to the blinking "Writing to Memory" light on my D90 after I shut it down while it was still writing a long exposure of the moon.
