Shutter activations

It is a part of EXIF - many "image readers" like XnView, for example, can give you an insight into it (EXIF) as soon as you right click the image file and ask for "properties"... Then just try to locate the "shutter count"...
There is also an excellent (specialized) tool called "exiftoll" - you can download it from here: ExifTool by Phil Harvey

I wonder what the bell curve looks like? I have had my 52 for 7 months and the count is at 18,335, around 2,600 a month.

Lol, It's kinda bell shaped, just don't ask me what "abstract" means!

Yes, that was quite the bright question, wasn't it? I meant where does the apex of distribution fall.

Even I don't know what 'abstract' means, despite having written a 100+ page paper on its influence on early 20th century book and ephemera design (which I still can't read without falling asleep).

I think it would be hard to find the data as to when shutters actually fail. I think they are rated for 100,000-150,00 actuations depending on model. I'm sure conditions play a big role.

Hi Rick,
I am trying to find out how many activations I have used
Harle

What type of camera are you using? It would be tremendously helpful if you would fill in your profile when you get a chance. That way, the moderators on this site can help you in a more timely manner....thanks for visiting Nikonites!

p.s. earlier on this thread, the website was posted as to where you can go to upload an image (your latest image) to see what your current actuation count is. Hope this helps!
