I fell in love with the Nikon 12-24.. great super wide lens. However I don't do too many landscape shots so I have a hard time trying to justify adding to my stable.
I would look into Tokina 12-24 F4 or 11-16 F2.8 for a more inexpensive alternative.

In your signature it is stated that you own a 18-200mm zoom, which is already a wide angle lens (at 18mm, at least). Now, if you feel it is not wide enough for you, go for anything between diagonal fish eye and 16mm, be it a zoom or a prime (I suggest a prime Nikon 14mm f/2.8 AF Nikkor 14mm f/2.8D ED from Nikon if you can afford it - if you can't, then Samyang 14mm f/2.8 will do just fine, although in the manual focus mode only 14mm f/2.8 Samyang, Pro Optic, Rokinon and Bower).

This photo is taken with that Samyang:

Don't think of your wide angle lens as a landscape lens. It is extremely good for shots of cars, and buildings, and animals, and people (in certain poses)....in fact, just about anything. The wide angle distortion gives the shots a bit more interest ;)
