Looking forward to seeing how this performs against your D7200 (and help me decide whether i should go for one!)Getting it on Tuesday. Willing to pay sales tax to support my brick and mortar.
Resistance is Futile
I'm gonna' go ahead and get one. I'm waiting for a call back from my local camera store. If they don't have them in stock, Cameta and Best Buy show them as in stock. Now I have to decide what I'm going to sell...

Anyone know if the Sony XQD card readers play nice with Apple iMacs?
The D500, like all DSLRs, is electronic, which means that it depends on Ohm's Law to work. Ohm's Law is all about the balance between voltage, current,and resistance.
If, for you, resistance is futile, the Ohm's Law becomes futile, since it depends on resistance. And with it, anything electrical or electronic also becomes futile, so you won't be able to use it.
You may just have to give up on any digital camera, in fact, on any camera that depends on electricity in any way,and go to an old-school, all-mechanical, film camera, such as an F or an F2.

I still have an Argus C3 somewhere.
Nikon = the Borg?
E=I*R
therefore R=E/I
Where as E=Electromotive force(Volts)
I=Current (Amps)
R= resistance (ohms)
Almost everyday I have to use this calculation
I'm an Electrician
I came so close to making that reference... so closeI still have an Argus C3 somewhere.

I'm trying to get into the trade myself. After I lost my previous job, due to the closing of a long-standing Campbell's Soup factory where I worked, I went to a trade school to learn to be an electrician. I got straight “A” grades throughout the entire course, but have been struggling since then to get an actual job in the trade.
too nebulous for me. What are you getting? A new memory card for a new camera? D500?
