Resistance is Futile

I'm gonna' go ahead and get one. I'm waiting for a call back from my local camera store. If they don't have them in stock, Cameta and Best Buy show them as in stock. Now I have to decide what I'm going to sell...

Getting it on Tuesday. Willing to pay sales tax to support my brick and mortar.

Anyone know if the Sony XQD card readers play nice with Apple iMacs?

I'm sure things have settled down on the XQD since they have been available for some time now from the intro with the D4

The D500, like all DSLRs, is electronic, which means that it depends on Ohm's Law to work. Ohm's Law is all about the balance between voltage, current,and resistance.

If, for you, resistance is futile, the Ohm's Law becomes futile, since it depends on resistance. And with it, anything electrical or electronic also becomes futile, so you won't be able to use it.

You may just have to give up on any digital camera, in fact, on any camera that depends on electricity in any way,and go to an old-school, all-mechanical, film camera, such as an F or an F2.

I still have an Argus C3 somewhere. :)

Nikon = the Borg?

E=I*R
therefore R=E/I

Where as E=Electromotive force(Volts)
I=Current (Amps)
R= resistance (ohms)

Almost everyday I have to use this calculation

I have one too. One of the very earliest versions. It was my first “real camera”.

Of course, the Borg would have exactly the same problem that I described in my earlier post—a significant plot hole in their depiction in the Star Trek mythos.

Nearly all of the technology that they assimilate should be useless to them, because, again, “resistance is futile”, which should render anything that depends on Ohm's Law—anything electrical or electronic—futile as well.

I'm trying to get into the trade myself. After I lost my previous job, due to the closing of a long-standing Campbell's Soup factory where I worked, I went to a trade school to learn to be an electrician. I got straight “A” grades throughout the entire course, but have been struggling since then to get an actual job in the trade.

Everytime I see the phrase "Resistance is Futile" I think of 7 of 9

Got it! :)

Only a few shots so far, but it's clear that this focusing system is a step forward. Shot in low light and focusing was quick and accurate.

Come to Atlanta...lots of electrical contractors looking for qualified help.

A GC here.....

Outside of the old battery issue and some anomalies with Sigma lenses I'm thrilled with this. The battery issue is bothersome (I had one at 7% the other day that I took out, put in my D750 and it read 38%, then I put it back in the D500 and it refused to turn on), but if you've got at least 2 of the Li-ion20 versions it's manageable, and if you've got 3+ you should be fine (provided you're using them only in the D500).

Looking forward to hearing your thoughts.
