SD cards, what's best?

Hey,

I've got my 3200 coming in the mail tomorrow (w00t) so I'm about to enter this awesome world where I'm taking photos with something better than my cell phone (w00t²).

I've got a 32G class 4 SDXC card on hand that will tie me over until I get something proper. I do expect to be doing full HD video, so I'm looking at different 64g class 10s.

I've seen the approved SD list from Nikon, but I'm assuming the list isn't exhaustive (ie. There aren't only 3 possible 64g cards that will work with a d3200). So I thought I'd pop up on here, say hello, and find out what high capacity, high speed cards the cool kids are using these days.

Everyone has a favorite but most will probably point you to the SanDisk Extreme Pro's.

I've found happiness with the Samsung Pro cards personally.

I use Transcend and they did/do a good job in all my cams. They're probably not the fastest of the bunch (I never checked) but that's only a concern if you're shooting bursts all the time.

not had the d3200 too long so can't guarantee there's no issue with it but I do t think there is, I've tried a micro usb Lexar 32gb class 10 which seemed to give card errors via the camera requiring me to turn the camera on and off, so I reverted back to my sandisk 16gb class 4 (as that's all I have at the min) but while on hols that also gave me the error message on the camera screen requiring me to turn the camera on / off and remove/replace the card.

Im now wondering if this is simply a compatibility issue or if there is a deeper problem?, the error message was along the lines of the card maybe corrupted and would need formatting, but it worked fine again after being taken out and put back in with an on/ off of the camera also.

so I'm looking into another sd card and am also wondering what to get that's not 2 expensive, I find buyer is a good reliable cheap source for things like this..

I think the solution here is to simply stop using Micro-SD cards. Why would you do that in the first place when you can find Class 10, 16GB SD cards, brand spanking new for less that $10? I suggest you maybe just stick with what your camera was designed to use and then buy a brand that has a solid, well-established reputation like SanDisk, Lexar or Transcend. Doing anything less, in my experience, is simply asking for trouble.

I'm using a W-03 32GB Toshiba wifi SD Card. Works fine so far. Uploads to my android phone work OK. There can be time out issues. Using it in live view mode for transfers seems to work best.

Yep. The majority are sandisk counterfeits.

Online Shop Free Shipping+high-speed cf card 16G 32G 600X 95M / s SLR camera memory card CompactFlash 600X|Aliexpress Mobile

How can u tell its a sandisk counterfeit?

Sandisk used to have a huge lead with performance years back. Today though the par is so minimal that i dont see a single reason to buy that brand. Their rma process is cumbersome vs transcends. Very swift with transcend. For sd though id get the kingston today. For cf not sure what id get. Atm im all cf'ed out to the max.
