Is that really necessary to use that eye lens DK-5 when you are using the "Live View" feature ?
The NIKON books says it will cause the exposure to change with out it In place when using the "live view screen".
I can see IF the suns passing thru the eye viewer and reverse thru the lenses it could change the exposure setting !
But question is it really advised to use it ?

Whats your opinion....Thanks to all who answer this question.

If shooting in any auto mode or using the meter in manual and there is a light source behind the camera it will affect the metering. Even just a table light might change the exposure by a stop. If it is dark and no light source, not so much.

Just hold your camera up with a light striking the viewfinder, then cover the viewfinder with your finger and watch the metering change.

Edited to add: Not as big a deal when using live view, because Live View is using the sensor to meter the scene. You could experiment and see if a strong light hitting the viewfinder affects the Live View metering.
