Images are coming out way too narrow

Hello, I just purchased a Nikon d3200 and so far I love it. However, my images are coming out way too narrow. I photoed a few friends and they all look extremely thin (skinny). Are there any settings I can change to make the photos more accurate?

Can you post an example please? Which program are you using to view the images?

Right, which program? There has to be more to the story? (we need to know more about what you are doing?)

If this is a result of resizing the image, you have to make sure the "Constrain Proportions" or "Maintain Proportions" or "Preserve Aspect Ratio" is On (Whatever it is named in the Resize box).

Without a sample image, it is extremely difficult to figure out what you mean.
