Advice on Iceland and the Northern Lights

Dear all, finally getting my wife to Iceland in February to, fingers crossed, see the Northern Lights. Her life long wish.
I am completely new to photography but have bought the 12 -24mm nikon lens for wide angle landscapes, the kit lens and a sigma 70-300mm. Oh and a tripod.
Do you have any advice on the settings to best capture this beautiful phenomenon.

Seriously I have never shot Northern lights before nor have seen them in person.

Google Dave morrow he has a photography website and he goes over the setting needed as well as pics with exif data
