Lightroom 3 won't recognise raw files from d3100 help

As the title says. I have lightroom 3 and have just for the first time tried to import my pics from the camera, I get a message saying lightroom does not recognise the raw files from this camera, I have previously uploaded jpeg from the same camera in the same manner. I'm new to this so need some advice. Thanks in advance

I had the same thing with my D7000 files. You need to make sure you have the latest version of both the Lightroom software and Camera Raw update from the Adobe site.

Hi Billy,
I think you just need the latest Adobe Camera RAW update, this will add support for newer RAW formats. LR3 works fine with my D3100 RAW files.

Download the latest updates, and give it another go.

I'm guessing you have a newer camera, like a D600, right? If so, you'll have to download the latest updates from Adobe and possibly need to upgrade to LR-4....maybe.
