How to set the Interval Shooting Timer to be always on?

I'm shooting real estate homes. I have to take 7 exposures for each shot for use in a 3rd part HDR process. I want to be able to move the camera&tripod from place to place and just hit the shutter button and have the 7 exposures trigger according to the Interval Timer settings. I don't see a way to lock that in. So I have to press Menu, arrow right on the Interval Time Shooting bar, arrow left on Now, arrow up to On, then press OK. What a pain! Ideas anyone?

THat helps, but still not hands-free. you have to hold the top func button and the shutter button while the burst takes place. i'd like to be able to hit the shutter release and have the 7 or 9 exposures run their course. any way to do that?

I'd skip all the interval timer mumbo jumbo, and set the camera for bracketing, with the number of exposures, and the f-stop differences... then just lean on the shutter... you are using a tripod... and/or use a corded remote shutter, and hold the button for the requisite number of shots... I believe you can set the camera's Ch menu option for the 7 shots... and it'll fire until if fires 7 times... With all the moving around with the tripod, what's the 7 seconds it takes to mash the button in the grand scheme of things??

thanks. not sure what a camera Ch menu option is or where to find it on a d300s though. will it stop the bracket shots after the 7 or 9 shots automatically? I tried using continuous shooting and counting the exposures, but miscounted and messed up the bracketing sequence. thanks again for your help.

You can set bracketing to 3, 5, 7 or 9 shots on the D300, and it will stop at the end on its own if you are holding down the shutter button (or doing so via a cable).

Thank you both for the assist. I finally realized the Ch was in reference to the camera release mode setting, duh. Once I did that, everything "clicked" nicely! 7 shots. I'll pick up a remote shutter release so I can be completely hands-off.

Any suggestions on a good shutter release for the d300? Wired and simple is best for me.

Glad you got it working... You can search Amazon for "remote shutter release D300".. Pretty hard to go wrong, as they start about $6.50 and go up from there... You might also look deeper in that search, there are several wireless releases in the <$20 range too...

I just use the Nikon one because it came with my camera when I bought it on eBay. Others might be good, too, though. But I can tell you, the Nikon one works great. It's pretty instantaneous and very responsive if you need to let go and stop at any point.
