Motorcycle • Magazine Centrefold Advertising Shoot

Hello everyone!

I know that this machine is not everyone's cup of tea, but, nevertheless,
I though of posting it.

I was asked to shoot, for a next town dealer, a magazine-centrefold size
advertising for the actual summer season… and of course, it should be
ready YESTERDAY!

The A.D. said: "Listen, we have no time! I want no girls, no dramatic set up
and we cannot move the motorcycle to any location. Please, find a solution
that looks and feels like the real thing… And I need the photo say…latest
at 15:00 uploaded on my server."

It was 11:47, and this is what I came up with after some self-endulged heavy
brain storming!:

D3X + 85 ƒ1.4.

At this time, the AD hasn't call yet! I shall presume that he is happy.

C&C welcomed.

Been trying to move my mind back 45 years and ask myself the question would i drool over that in a magazine, pretty sure the answer is yes, like some other things in life its often what you cant quite see as much as what you can see.

With the guy not willing to do anything to help you set up a shoot, I think you did great. But I also think the guy was an idiot and wasted a great chance to get a truly awesome shot, that would pull people in a lot better.
Way to go my friend, for pulling off a great shot the hard way. :D

Right! Bill, let me explain…

The A. D., in this case, was not an idiot!
The A. D. is the Artistic Director of an advertising agency. He normally takes care
of all the creative communications of his clients. For some reason, in the middle
of his high season, the dealer wakes up and remembers that he forgot to advertise
a new sommer collection for ladies!

With a full store and all staff busy, there was no one to help me and no time for
complicated solutions. And this is usually the time where my phone rings. I'm the
guy that got this A. D. out of trouble. Again!

So, indeed, the shoot was done in most adverse conditions. Took me some time
to find the right idea and a good approach but then, there it was…

…one shot, and I went home. Job done.

Have a good time!

…this is a possible conclusion!

In any case, this one will not feel light on his advertising budget!

What makes me curious though, is how they will build the layout of this add.

We shall see…
