• Nikon D800 coming February 7th

    Nikon is going to announce something on Feb. 7th and the buzz is that it's going to be the D800.

    Here are the rumored specs:
    • 36MP sensor
    • 100% viewfinder coverage
    • Improved AF with face recognition – the D800 will still have 51 points AF point
    • Dual memory card slots (CF+SD)
    • USB 3.0
    • ISO range: 100 – 6400, ISO LO @ 50 and ISO HI-2 @ 25600
    • The screen will be larger than 3 inches
    • No built-in GPS
    • Expeed 3 processor
    • 4 fps continuous shooting - 6fps in DX mode with optional battery pack
    • 1080p video (30/25/24 fps)
    • 720p video (60/30/25/24 fps)
    • Headphones jack - input from external device, like PCM sound recorder
    • 86k pixel RGB sensor
    • 200k shutter cycles
    • Uncompressed HDMI video out (like the D4)
    • There will be two different D800 versions/models, one with the antialiasing filter removed

      There are so many things on that camera that I don't need it's not worth it to me. I am sure it's a great piece of equipment. I don't need any video, don't need a stupidly huge sensor, headphone jack and the list goes on. I can't wait to see some actual field photos from it though.
