I'm very partial to Autopano Pro as an alternative to PS.

I use Serif Photo Plus x4, Which is like PS. When I bought it I got their Panorama Plus x4 with it. I do believe they upgraded to x5 now. It cost me only $40. I tried the trial version first and after using it for a while they offer you to buy it at a cheaper price.
