Adobe Extends $9.99/mo CC Offer Thru March 31 - For Everyone!!

Just wanted to give folks a heads up. Seems Adobe has extended the $9.99/month Photoshop + Lightroom Creative Cloud offer through the end of March. This includes the 20GB of cloud storage and Behance membership.

There are no restrictions on who can take this offer!! That's right - no previous Photoshop ownership requirement.

So if you've been looking for an excuse, here you go.

https://creative.adobe.com/plans/offer/photoshop+lightroom

I've said before that I don't want to fork over more $$ after having paid for CS6, but with the perspective warp tool now available only there I am seriously considering it. And if I buy one less 6 of craft beer a month it's a break-even scenario!! Sometimes sacrifices must be made. LOL

What's annoying me is that I went to login with my Adobe ID and they said I need to reset my password and to "Please check your inbox for an email we just sent you with instructions for how to reset your password and log into your account." That was an hour ago and still no email. Maybe they don't want me to join?!

I know it's a good deal, has anyone looked into the cost after the first year ends? I already own cs6, and lightroom 4, thinking of updating to lightroom 5 and if the cc price soars after the first year I may be better off staying with individual programs.

I am really interested in this but am unable to find answers to 2 questions. If anyone knows, I'd really appreciate any information. :D

1--This computer is Vista and my laptop that was sent in for repair is Windows 7. Will this work with either because all I see is that it is compatible with Windows 8 or Macs.

2--I also looked but cannot find info on how many computers it can be installed on for one person. Does anyone know?

The reason I'm interested in it is this...first of all I have Lightroom 4. If I upgrade to Lightroom 5, upgrades generally run about $79 annually (if you upgrade it yearly). Plus I use Photoshop Elements 10 and recently bought version 12 which I haven't even opened. That program tends to run anywhere from $50 to $70. So if I go the route of paying $120 annually ($9.99 per month) for the Creative Cloud, I'll actually be ahead of the game by around $10+ per year and would get the benefit of the full version of Photoshop! ;) I do like to have the programs installed on 2 computers though.

Does anyone know the answers to either of my questions--I did search their site. Thanks for any help! :)

Adobe CC runs Photoshop, Lightroom and InDesign on my Windows 7 PC like a champ.

Your license is good for two machines. As in, "dos"... Twain. One might say, "a pair".

You can run NOT Creative Cloud apps on both machines, from the same account, at the same time, however; at least that's what I read somewhere... I've not actually tried to do that, but I do have all my Adobe CC apps installed on both my desktop PC and the girlfriends laptop.

That was an early concern, and Adobe said the $9.99 was a lifetime rate.... Now, that was announced for the early upgrade folks that had CS2 or higher... I don't know if that was true for the general folks that weren't in the early upgrade group...

Oops... Looks like, with further research, the $9.99 is only guaranteed for the folks that upgraded before 12/31/2013...

Everyone says they're "confident it won't go up in the future", but no one seems to know for sure. At least I still have the hard copy of CS6 to fall back on as I type scathing posts to anyone who will listen if they do go up.

In the contract portion of Creative Cloud it does mention that any change in current price will be communicated specifically in advance prior to renewal, so as long as you're paying attention you shouldn't get blindsided with a higher price. I suspect within a month of renewal you'll get a an email stating what your renewal price will be, but that's just a guess.

Jake this was due to the security breach they had a few months back. . .

I think the reality is really pretty simple. Adobe will honor the $10 a month (or whatever you're paying now for whatever it is you're getting)... Until they decide not to. Why? Because stockholders, that's why. And of course Adobe wants you to think the price won't go up, and it probably won't... At least not for a while. But that being said, Adobe isn't going to sign anything in blood saying you'll have what you have now, plus updates, delivered at the price you got it for, for ever and ever. Prices *will* eventually go up and the only questions are when, and by how much. When it does, you can decide then if it's worth it to you to continue paying ransom to Adobe.

One minor quibble with the installation of the CC software. It replaced my CS6 links in LR with Photoshop CC, but somehow couldn't be bothered with applying the hooks that were in my CS6 version of Photoshop to Nik, onOne, DxOMark and other filters to Photoshop CC, forcing me to reinstall these. I suspect it's not an Adobe issue as much as it is a factor of the other software companies having to put some hooks in, but it's a complete annoyance, particularly given that I can't seem to find the install file for the DxOMark FilmPack 3 and it seems the link for the free download of the software is long gone. Yes, I can invoke it through LR or CS6, but it's a PITA to do it outside of what will become my default workflow. Hopefully I have it on a Time Machine backup somewhere.

Just curious, does anyone have a copy of the install file for Mac? Ping me if you do.

As for price changes, I would bet dollars to donuts the price will not change for at least 3 yrs and probably more like 5. As you can see, Adobe has been trying hard to fill subscriptions at $10 a month and is not hitting their target number, hence all these extensions. The chance they would risk losing subscribers by bumping the price anytime soon is nil, IMO.

For a little while they went back to having to have a previous version of Photoshop. I see they have dropped that requirement again. I think Dave is right. I bet they are not getting the numbers they had hopped for. I doubt that they will increase the fee after the first year or if they do it will be very slight.

When I got it (just before Christmas) i was speaking to someone online who said it was staying the same "at least until 31.12.13 but online offers are subject to change at any time". That was the first extension so it looks like the Adobe Ps/Lr sales manager has been to the University of Sofa Sales! Constantly 'on sale' but at the same time always 'ending soon!'.

I love the two programmes - and for £8.78/month (you lot in the US are getting a good exchange rate there!) it's great. I don't look forward to the day, however, when the price does go up beyond what I want to pay. Then it will be back to my DL version of CS2!

O.K., I've been reading and reading and reading....Right now things are kind of blurry from tired eyes. After getting the D7100 I need to decide which way to go. I'm not really interested in having everything or more than I'll ever use. It's just for my own personal novice use. I'm not really interested in having hundreds of dollars tied up in software.

Is this the way to go? I don't really like the idea of paying monthly but if there are advantages over buying one single software package I would go that route. I read with a lot of interested the NIK thread but I don't really want to buy, this, this and for a few extra features, that.

Ease of use is a big plus also. LOL
