Photoshop CS3

Hello,
could anyone advise me what plug in I need to be able to open Nikon raw files on photoshop CS3 please. I cant open them. I have a Mac btw.

Not 100%, but I'm pretty sure you need the new Adobe Raw. Whichever one supports the 5100.

Photoshop CS3 can read NEF files. What camera are you using? I'm guessing that you have a newer camera that isn't supported in the older version of Camera Raw used in CS3.

I have a D5100. The Mac is old - G4.

Support for the D5100 in Camera Raw (the plugin inside Photoshop that reads NEF files) began with version 6.4.1 as part of Photoshop CS5. You will have to upgrade your version of Photoshop which in your case means updating your computer.

The other option is to convert your NEF files to DNG using Adobe's DNG Converter. (Photoshop can read DNG files.) You might just make it with your old Mac because the last version of the DNG Converter that is supported for the PowerPC is version 6.4 available here.

The good news is that with CS3 you can still upgrade to the Creative Cloud for $10/month and get CS6, LR5 and support for your D5100.

Creative Cloud won't work on a G4 Mac.

The good news is that the new Macs are faster.

it I slow but it has CS3 on it so I want to keep it for a while at least. thanks. My son rubs my nose in his MacBook pro. its awesome. one day ........
