Suggestions for photo website building sites

I am looking for suggestions on what site I should use to build a website of my street portraits. I would use it to refer people who ask me while I'm shooting if I have a website and give them a chance to look for shots of themselves.

At this point I am not looking to sell images I just want an easy place for people enjoy.

Good design, fair pricing and ease of creation are important to me.
(Fair pricing to me would be $10/month or less)

Prefer it works on iPads (non-Flash) as well as laptops.

Ideas?

I had to create a website for a different interest that I have. The only one I could handle and afford was GoDaddy.com. They are very helpful.

If all you want to do is display them, I recommend 500px The free membership allows only 10 uploads per week but their most expensive membership is $50/year and uploads are unlimited.

I dropped GoDaddy as soon as I could for ethical reasons and because their "website tonight" was awful to use.

With a godaddy hosted account you get picture gallery.
Not sure about the size or limits etc but it costs less than 10 clams a month.
Here is a site I've had for years with two galleries of old pictures members submitted.
White Plate Flat Trackers Association
Pretty good slide show feature and it doesn't resize or hot link the pictures from another server. So that means
you can contriol the website content and the gallery.

Godaddy.com supports SOPA and PIPA which I am strongly against so I do not go with them. If you buy the domain, I can offer you hosting for a cheap price. Unlimited upload amount and everything. I may even make a public site for all to be able to upload for personal galleries other than here. Let me know if you are interested via PM.

to watch for uptime, you can reference http://TraeWathen.com.

If you don't have Web design experience I would recommend something like Flickr. They allow 200 uploads and for a pro account that includes unlimited uploads it's $25/yr which is a heck of a deal.

If you have some Web experience there are free templates you can get free that will allow you to upload your site to the server and are relatively easy to maintain you would need some way to edit them such as Visual Studio Express or something similar.

If you need any more help I have quite a bit of experience with Web design. My site is JaxCoder: Home for a look at my work.

They are free however I do not personally like using these because of ads. I do not think it is a clean look and if you are giving these to potential clients I think it is better to have an actual site vs. a Flickr/Photobucket, however it is an acceptable item to some. They are great alternatives.

This is what I did on my photobucket site.

Click on the image below to go to the site/slideshow...

Wanted something without all the photobucket branding.

Nice site Rick trae w. did a good job.

Mine's geared more for programming as I'm a retired programmer but I used to have some nice graphics on my site for my brother who is a photographer.

If you have certain web/coding experience, I was going to suggest free php/JavaScript prebuilt site packages out there for photo galleries. Once setup, they are easy to use, all web based.

There is no place like 127.0.0.1

piwigo is about as simple as they come. It has a netinstall script so all you have to do is upload the php and wallah. You are done. Only thing I really did was url redirects and template mods. He had all the ideas and did the rest. He gives me too much credit lol

Good site!
If I was earlier I could have given you a free site, I've built so many of my own over the years and have plenty sitting about on back up drives. If anyone else is in need of a portfolio site just give me a shout. You'll need a domain that's all.
