Lightroom 6.6 sliders jumping

Although the problem began a few updates ago, the problem still persists, and drives me almost crazy.

Here's the scenario: It doesn't matter if the slider's value's are at 0 or any other number, if i click on the sliders (handle) to select them, instead of them staying where there are they jump a bit. For example the slider value could be zero, i click on it and it jumps to 2 (or more), or the slider value could be 50 and it'll jump to 54 etc. It is so frustrating. This problem happens even if I'm very careful in making sure i click bang in the middle of the handle.

The thing is i only ever use my mouse wheel to change the slider's value, but i of course have to click on the handle selector once to select them.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling Lightroom. I've even bought a new mouse to see if that helps and it doesn't help.

I tried resetting the Lightroom preferences file (by holding down [Alt]+[Shift] and relaunching Lightroom & Overwriting the preference file when prompted) and the problem still persisted. I then installed the Intel driver update utility which updated the graphics driver, and that made no difference either.

Has anybody else had a similar experience?

Thanks

I've tried a few other things with no joy:

- I tried the mouse in a different USB port but it didn't help
- Moving the mouse wiring didn't help
- Unplugging the other USB devices didn't help
- Changing mouse options in control panel didn't help
- I have tried different mice with no joy
- I don't have any touchpad or touch screen, it's just a desktop PC

Sorry if I don't understand the situation, but I cannot duplicate your problem (in Photoshop, but it is the same ACR as in Lightroom). You did say "careful", but you are reporting short jumps, and it does sound to me like your click is simply missing the slider control. If you have changed your mouse cursor, maybe it is an issue of where its active point is?

If you click on the bar either side of the control, the control will shift to that spot where you clicked.

If you click on the (tiny) control, it won't move until you slide it.

But if a click on the control was a double click, it will reset to the center 0 position.

Another thing to try,
Switch on/off the GPU acceleration,
If its switched on turn it off then test.
If switched off, turn it on and test.

I think you may have solved it. I turned off the GPU acceleration and the problem seems to be fixed!

I will just say that I only had time to test it for 2 minutes before I had to rush out to take my child somewhere, but in those 2 minutes I had no jumps what so ever. I will test fully when I get home and after a PC restart too.

Thank you so much :)

Thanks for the ideas. However I think the problem is already solved (see above)

Test it for a few days and let us know if it fixes the issues, as it might help others who may have the same problem.

I can confirm that the problem has been fully solved as i have just used Lightroom for 2 hours without a single slider jumping.
