Printing Post Cards

Need some help, my wife is a realtor and needs to print post cards, her brother laser jet will not feed the post cards she had made nor will our small hp at home. She tried on a canon printer and it worked but it was a $500 printer. Hate to spend $500 for just post cards can anyone recommend a printer they know prints 4X6 post cards? I know some of the older ones had a lever for thicker stock, haven't seen this on the new models.

Thanks in advance

Bob, does the printer feed paper from the back "top" or bottom tray? I think I am learning why the canon worked with glossy one sided print post cards.

Bob, does the printer [Epson WF-4630] feed paper from the back "top" or bottom tray? I think I am learning why the canon worked with glossy one sided print post cards.

The main paper feed is from a tray underneath, for holding large numbers of sheets of standard-sized, standard weight paper.

There's also a back feed, for feeding specialized papers, in unusual sizes or weights. It has a straighter paper path. It should be able to take light cardstock in any reasonable size through the back feed.

Most printers will have two paper feeders
. Bulk feeder which has a curved path
. Card feeder which has a straight path. This feed is usually from the back
For less than a 100 cards, online prints are the most affordable. Here in India a 6x4 costs as low as Rs6 per print on normal stock and Rs.50 for card stock with envelope. That is way below the cost of printing it at home.

I have HP 1010 printer which costs around US $250 in India and it can print cards

How many do you want to print?

I just used printfirm.com to get some trading cards done. The process was good. I got some online help from a chat rep. Overall the experience was good.

Looks like they have runs as small as 50 cards for $18.90

Postcard Printing - Custom Printed Postcards from PrintFirm.com

She had the cards printed at vista print, that is the front side, on the back she uses different messages like just sold, just listed, thinking of listing etc wheich she runs through a printer. I had replaced her ink jet with a brother laser a while back and it cannot handle the cards and it doesn't have a rear feed.

I use Avery cards in whole sheets then just tear apart at the micro-perferations after printing. Used on HP and canon with no problems

We have commercial colour laser print shops which use Xerox printers. The printers are huge, but the prices are unbelievable - Rs 30/ (less than 50 cents) for an A3 sheet. The prints are not photo quality, but good enough for cards and drawings. The nearest competitor for Photoprint in A3 size is US $3 on the net.

Found a canon pixma MG2922 that has a top rear paper feed and it works like a champ, all for $49 so I'm happy, my wife is happy and all is good throughout the world...

Thanks to all for the suggestions.
