Seagate Class Action Lawsuit

Good thing all my Seagates are 2- and 4-TB then, huh?

The interesting thing there is that I had heard general guidance to avoid EVERYONE's 3TB drives, due to issues.

Other than that, I don't know if it's worth adding to the backup routine using different brands of disks to protect against a bad model or not, just something curious to watch.

I have a 3TB Seagate drive sitting on my desk because I just replaced it in my NAS last week. The label I put on the disk says I installed that drive late 2013. I like to buy WD drives whenever possible, but sometimes the allure of saving $20-$30 on a Seagate gets me. I think I should reassess my money saving practices.

I had two Dell computers both of which used Seagate hard drives. Both were terrible. The first one constantly had the blue screen of death. I use 3 Western Digital My Passport drives because I didn't want Seagate.

Zero issues with my Seagate drives.

Same here. Both with internal laptop and external drives.

WD external drives have given me the most grief. Two failures in five years. One laptop and one external.

One external drive is a Seagate. I'll check it tonight.
