Released today.

The major new thing in Lightroom is that the Dehaze tool can now be used as a local adjustment which is great.

BUT... WARNING new LR crashes on my iMac after using it for a few minutes, is it just me or anyone else tried it?

Update.

Did a complete un install and then downloaded full version again. This time it seems to be working.:encouragement:

That said I also just found this on the lightroom forum.

So beware if you are on El Capitan.

I've got a bug where LR and PS are not communicating metadata updates properly. When I send a RAW file to PS and save the resulting PSD file it saves it to my LR catalog, but I get a message saying...

The metadata for this photo has been changed by both Lightroom and another application. Should Lightroom import settings from disk or overwrite disk settings with those from the catalog?

I'm a huge fan of these tools, but since the LR CC update it's been far more unstable than I'd like. You won't catch me applying updates as released quickly any more. Hoping they get on the ball with this some time soon.

Worst Adobe update ever for me. (I'm on Windows 8.1) I should have stopped trying after it continually failed to install, but I didn't. And I really didn't want to call them on the first day and be experimented on. After lots of dead ends chasing error codes, I ended up uninstalling and reinstalling. I thought that worked, but I had no dehaze tool, it was gone. I tried reinstalling again and the haze tool came back. Then I found I could only run Lightoom once, then it would never open again. Signing in and out did not help, but a reboot did. After some snooping, I found LR was still active in task manger even after exiting. Just for giggles, I tried unchecking the show add pictures box mentioned in the article above. It worked, so evidently its causing problems on windows as well. I can open and close LR all I want now.

A new problem though, the Lightroom preferences window is too long, the whole height of my screen, so the OK, Cancel, and Restart Lightroom buttons are inaccessible behind my windows taskbar. I had to turn on taskbar auto hide so I could Ok the changes. I don't like auto hide. I'm not sure if this is a new LR problem or if something in windows got screwed up. I can't remember how it looked before the update, but I never had a problem hitting OK on the preferences screen.

Also the launching of LR when a memory card is inserted is broke again even though the option is turned on. Lots of hours wasted today trying to work through this update. Grrrrr.

I was going to do it tonight when I got home, and I'm glad I read all this before I hit "update" this time. I feel you guy's pain..I really do...............really!:sorrow:

Let's hope it's not going to to take as long as that little EXIF problem last time, which was really just an inconvenience. This seems a bit more serious. Speaking of EXIF. What's with Adobe and Exif problems lately? You would think that they've been doing this long enough to have shit figured out by now.

I cancelled CC and will just revert to using stand alone LR 5 without the dehazing tool (big wow). Be careful when you cancel as they charge you an early cancellation charge. Yep, to cancel, they charge you extra. What BS.

This is a perfect example of why I won't be going to Win 10. Win 10 force feeds you the updates. Sure, on the pro version to can delay it a bit, but you will be force fed. All I need is for Microsoft to force feed my machine some update and cause my editing programs to go down because I'm sure Microsoft would be right on top of fixing whatever they inadvertently disabled.

Adobe screws it up enough on their own, they don't need Microsoft Win 10's help.

This has nothing to do with Windows 10. Windows 10 does not update/upgrade programs/apps on it's own unless you tell it to. It only does security updates like this. I agree that i wish it would let users decide when and how to do those updates, but in this case this has nothing to do with Win-10.

Agreed, it has nothing to do with Win 10. It was the point that unlike Adobe's update that some are CHOOSING to hold off on now, we will not have that option with Win 10. And agreed, it does not update/upgrade other programs, but if something in their security update is bad - causing things to happen that shouldn't - you don't have the ability to hold off until they get it worked out. Consequently, for example, if something in that security update incorrectly identifies an Adobe program as say unauthorized or illegal (another fine feature of Win 10 - removal of what it deems as illegal/pirated software/programs) it may remove your program. Of course it's not supposed to do that, but we all know not every program works as it was intended.

Windows 10 can disable pirated games and unauthorised hardware

So the point, this snafu by Adobe, which I can choose not to download, is the reason I won't be using Win 10 where I can't stop a bad update.

Well now with the new LR I am unable to import photos, and when I go to close the import box I have to quit LR to close it. Not happy at all.

Adobe have now released Lightroom CC 2015.2.1 which they claim fixes the crashing issue.

Just downloaded it and giving it a whirl.

The update is no better for me. This morning I started having the problem again of only being able to run LR once, then it never opens again. I thought that turning off that "show add photos" option fixed it, but it was only temporary. After I actually use LR for a bit, I cannot reopen it without a reboot or killing it in task manager. I just tried the update and no difference at all, I still can only run LR once and it gets stuck in memory.

Given that I'm in the middle of producing a photo book for someone I've avoided this update since before I knew it sucked. Now that I know what was in it, and what was taken away, I'm so glad I've avoided it. So bad that Adobe has issued a public apology admitting that it knew it was shipping with a "bug".

Adobe Apologizes for Latest Lightroom 6.2 Update

I will be waiting before I update from now on, but color me rather a little pissed about the changes to the Import process. Their "little used feature" was something I've used on each and every import I've ever done going back to LR 3.6.

Totally agree , this is the worst update I have ever experienced. Adobe need to get their QA sorted. That said Nikon have had months to prepare for El Capitan on the Mac and have done zilch. They have just posted that they need to check their S/W. In the meantime tough. Talk about customer service.
