Windows 10 Coming on July 29

Anyone who is running Windows 8.1 or 7, will get Windows 10 as a free upgrade when it comes out on July 29th. Cool :)

What they figured out is that sales of OS is mainly to manufacturers when they make/sell new computers and that very few people ever upgraded after they bought a computer. Also having to write each OS/Program to be backward compatible is expensive and also creates a lot of bloat. With Windows 10 they will automatically update all systems with each update. They really are not going to give you a choice on that. Again, makes it easier to keep everyone on the same system. IN THEORY it is a good way to do business and should be better for software writers to make cleaner/faster programs.

I'm glad you said, "points", as in plural, because if there's one error message I just love to see it's the, "System Restore did not complete successfully" error message.

Yeah, that's always nice. I like that...

I"m running Windows 7 and saw a new icon appear in the system tray. When I clicked on it, it was a prompt to get Windows 10. No thank you. ;)

And I'll bet it's as secure as any Federal Government piece of software!

My only problem with the free upgrade is that they only mention getting it via the Windows Store.
Hopefully they will have a direct link to the iso image or files directly from there site like the Win 8.1 upgrade files.

So far it seams to be a Win7 with the (internal/kernal) upgrades from Win8.

You don't have to get it. :rolleyes: Never understood this fanboy hatred-ism. BTW My Win 8.1 is pretty darn secure as long as I don't visit the dark side. I have Linux for that.
