MAC and Yosemite

I haven't done it yet. I'm a bit sceptical about the new interface. From the pictures I found on the web it looks rather flat and simplistic. But I guess I will have to take it as it is...

Flat and simplistic seems to be the new rave.

I upgraded the Mac Pro yesterday. The two MacBooks need to wait another week or two...VPN software I use for work needs to be updated so I'll hold off on that. So far so good. Still digging in deeper with it.

Just done it on my iMac. I decided to do a complete fresh install to get rid of all the built up junk. Panicked at one point when it said 1 sec to go and had to wait for over 10 minutes until it finally completed, phew !. So be patient.

Its all back with all apps reloaded from my backup and working.

Got to say not over impressed with the new flat look interface look but I guess it will grow on me, its just different. The iCloud bit works well.

Saturday morning my computer told me Pages needed updating, went to App Store and there was Yosemite. Without reading any reviews I clicked download. Four hours later it was complete. I'm not impressed and like Mavericks much better. Small system font and crappy Windows look alike icons. Everything seems to work OK though. None of the "new" features are of much use to me as all my other mobile Apple devices are not capable of running the OS* that is required. Think I can come up with a cunning plan to revert to Mavericks, but will probably take longer than four hours.

Well I did it!!! Not easy and took from 8am until 6pm but everything is just the way it was... If anyone wants to revert to Mavericks let me know with a PM.

Installed easily, just like everything else Apple. I don't like the flat icons as much, but seems to be a little quicker here and there. Couple of new features that are fun to mess with... nothing amazing. It just works.
