Apple OSX 10.9.5? New Patch Available

It's not often that Apple users have to worry about security issues that the Windows guys don't, but the bash (also called shell shock) vulnerability has been causing a lot of news lately. While it's been de-escalated as most don't think we understand the full effects of it yet, Apple did release a patch today through their support site (interestingly, instead of through their software update site).

Anyway, if you're interested...

Thanks Charlie, I was excepting it the normal way for updates. I really hate that they do it this way, but its fixed and working.

You'd think this would pop up on your app store. Guess critical updates don't have to be applied wide spread. It's a protection feature in Yosemite. lol

I'm with you on that ... I expected it to be in the app store. There's been some interesting churn around this possible vulnerability over the past week, so I don't know if that played a part in having it be a manual download or not.

I guess, but better to cause a workaround to get invaded rather than have no defense. Seeing how silly it is to fool bash, I'd much rather be semi-protected.
